The EU has Revised the List of European Standards Supporting the General Product Safety Directive

According to the second subparagraph of Article 3(2) of Directive 2001/95/EC (General Product Safety Directive, or GPSD), a product is to be presumed safe as far as the risks and risk categories covered by the relevant national standards are concerned when it conforms to voluntary national standards transposing European standards, the references of which have been published by the Commission in the Official Journal of the European Union in accordance with Article 4 of that Directive.


To support the GPSD for the above said purpose, European Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1698 was published on 2019-10-09, with reference standards listed in Annex I of that Decision.  


Changes:

On 2020-11-30, another European Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1808 was published, to amend Annex I of Decision (EU) 2019/1698, with the following rows amended or inserted:


Effective Date:

This Decision "(EU) 2020/1808" has entered into force on 2020-11-30, the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ).
